Guidance and Student Services
 
The topic of the meeting on October 8 is "What Testing Means for Gifted Learners."  Special guests from The Duke University Talent Identification Pogram will present information regarding opportunities for out of level testing and how this can benefit your child.  In addition, we will present valuable information from the TCAP assessment team and the psychology department. 
 
The meeting will be held in the Big Room at Robertson Academy at 6:45 PM.


WAVU Application Available Online

Applications due September 25, 2009

 

The application for Fall 2009 Weekend Academy is now available at the PTY website. Fall WAVU will be held October 10-11. Students in 7th to 10th grade are invited to sample college life by attending a course taught by a Vanderbilt scholar, touring campus, and staying on-site at the historic Scarritt-Bennett Center.

 

The fall course offerings are "Bioethics: From Pandemics to Genetics," "Math and Music," "It's a Mystery!" "Consumerism in American Society," and "Inside the Mind: Memory, Psychology, and Literature."  Course descriptions, faculty bios, applications, and more are available online.

 

 

 

Prudential Spirit of Community Awards

Students that have taken part in a community service activity and/or project over the past year can fill out an online application from at http://spirit.prudential.com(access key: spirit).  Once the form has been completed online, it must be printed out, signed and submitted to the principal by November 2, 2009.
