Students should read the following three books over the course of the summer:

Firebug Connection, By Jean Craighead George

Frindle, by Andrew Clements

Students Choice Biography- The student’s interest can guide their choice of this biography, but it should be a person who has made a significant contribution to society.  It is not advised for a student to read a biography of a negative behavioral example. 

The students are NOT asked to create a journal or project related to thee books, but they should come to school knowing the material well enough to participate in teacher assigned group/individual science and language activities related to the readings.
